Blow holes (3) at the Ka’iwi Makapu’U tide pools
I didn’t plan on it, but I jumped into the tide pools and floated with some fish. The rocks are really sharp, and slippery, so I didn’t take any photos while in the water. A few large waves hit , washed out, and foamed over by me. The loud yell from the blow holes followed with each pounding wave.
September 2011 was the last time I came down here. The blow holes weren’t spewing this large at the time. Again, it helps to show scale when there are people in the picture. The sound these make is so eerie, it creeps me out just standing by them. It’s as if the ground is taking deep breaths.
